Methilhill Community Learning Garden ... An Outdoor Learning Project
The Community Learning Garden is a community garden project based in Methilhill.
The garden is home to the Nature Tots, Outdoor Youth Club, outdoor play, growing areas and MCCI Office.
The focus of the garden is to provide opportunities for our local children to play and learn through nature... to be creative and inquisitive... to grow as people and members of our local community and the wider global community.
Children and young people have developed the garden with help from adult staff and volunteers. They mapped their ideas and the garden has grown to accommodate them… the only idea we will not be able to accommodate is to keep a pet elephant, but we do have chickens!
The garden will continue to grow and develop, as the children do. It has provided a wonderful canvas of ever changing interest and inspiration.
Charlie's Shed is a new multifunctional space which also contains a kitchen - which is used for workshops, open days, school visits and for group meetings on those rainy days.
